Chinese blue and white porcelain miniature vase decorated with floral motif. Blue underglaze with baluster shape. Inspection suggests this example dates from the Kangxi or Yongzheng period. Measures 2.75"H x 1.5"W. Condition report: Good condition with common wear for age.
These miniature vases are sometimes called ‘doll’s house’ vases because of their small size. This type of miniature vase might have furnished a doll’s house. It is also likely that this example... and others were formed into displays of small Chinese porcelain items. These ‘Porcelain Rooms’ which were in vogue in the years around 1700.
