ANTIQUE 18thC SOUTH INDIAN DECCAN RIBBED BRASS LOTA SPOUTED WATER POTDescription:A superb early ribbed brass Lota water vessel with spout, Deccan, South India, dating to the late 17th or early 18th century.The bowl is of flattened globular form,  standing on a raised pedestal foot, leading up to a wide neck with reeded detail. The spout narrows towards the opening, and has a decorative 'axe' form detail where it joins the bowl. The surface displays a deep coloured patina... with oxidisation in places.For a similar piece see Christie's, Lot 400, April 3rd 2009.
