This is a real antique well oil lamp. 200 years old, likely from the early 1800s or perhaps 1700s. Back when whale oil was a common means of lighting your home, the double Betty existed.Fairly well preserved, although it does have a nice rust cover on much of it. See pictures for condition. Fairly crude by today’s standards of course, you can’t help but to look at it and think of how different the times are compared to what we had to use back in the day just to see at night.It is m...issing a small loop (?) that would connect with the hook rod to the actual lamp in order to be able to hang it. Anything would pretty much do, so it isn’t a big deal.
