Up for bids is a vintage 5 1/2 inch "Scarey Ann" wooden doll made from 1924 - 1929 by the Poppy Doll Company of Atascadero, California. She was designed and patented by Dr. Chin. When you press a lever on the back of the toy it causes the doll's hair to stand on end. The mechanism seem to work fine. As you can see in the pictures, when I pulled down the lever her hair goes right up. Sc...arey Ann is actually slightly taller than 5 1/2" when her hair stands up. She has some cracks in her paint but overall is very nice. Some of her hair is out of place, and one side looks a little shorter but it might be the placement of her hair from storage, there could also be some missing hair, I am not sure exactly how much hair she originally came with exactly, but this is her original hair.
