You are bidding on an Orderof the Crown of Italy – 5th class with case of issue. The order is used and is in good conditionwith limited signs of wear and age and no enamel damage. The ribbon is original and is clean andcrisp. The case shows signs of storagewear with scuffs and rubs on the top and bottom as well as along the edges. Thetop of the case is embossed with the royal cypher of King Emanuele II. The hinge on the case is intact and in goodworking order.... The latching mechanism onthe upper lid is missing its hook that latches to the bottom portion. The Order of the Crown of Italy was institutedby King Vittorio Emanuele II in 1868 and came in five classes. The order was awarded to both civilian andmilitary personnel for merit and could be awarded to foreign nationals. The order was discontinued after WWII in 1946.
