A 3 5/8" tall light lavender colored rectangular-shaped antique TOOTH POWDER bottle. This bottle is EMBOSSED but the label on it is a copy / artist's rendition, of the worn out label that was on it when it was found under the porch of an old house in the Nevada desert. The bottle is an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE hand Blown Into Mold bottle (BIM) with a tooled top, blown at the Carr-Lowry glass factory in the early 1900's.Bottle embossed: "Sapo-nol...".Condition: This bottle has wear, stain, residue, and a fold of glass under the lip with some trapped air pockets with some resulting chips and dings, above the labeled side of the bottle. They'd found it under the porch of a house in Nevada and it still had most of the worn paper label on it. Using this and a picture of one of these bottles from an old Owl Drug mail order catalog, we were able to put a label together, a hand-crafted version of the original label. We then made a photo copy of the label, cleaned up the bottle, and put it back together as you see here. This bottle also had a corroded and pitted metal top on it, like a shaker top, but it was too far gone to do anything with and it made the bottle look worse. The embossing on the bottle and the printing on the label are identical, the same font, just as you see. The bottle is also embossed C.L.G.Co. on the base, made by the Carr Lowry Glass Company, who specialized in making colored and ornate bottles. These bottles actually come in two sizes and between the label that was on this one and the bottle pictured in the Owl Drug catalog, we believe it was an Owl Drug bottle, check it out!We always offer a nice variety of OWL DRUG CO. bottles for sale.
