For auction is a 6 Transistor Crown TR-666 Radio (about 1959 vintage) with original leather carryingcase.This is an olden transistor radio, built with rudimentary technology and bare industry standards, designed to attract fast sales andperform for only a few years. As withall vintage transistor radios, the aged electronics are leaky, off the mark andfailing. Yet, this little radio is art, history and marvel, all rolled into one.Made in JapanBands: AM onlyOperation: T...hisradio is being sold as NON-WORKING, meaning that the buyer should notexpect the electronics of the radio to function at all. The radio did faintly play an AM station whentested but it is NOT implied or guaranteed to do so upon delivery. This radio is being sold as if the electronics are inoperative, non-working and non-functional.Requires 9-volt battery.Outer Condition: Excellent shape – there are NOcracks, chips, or noticeable scratches. Some scuff marks from wear and tear.Back of radio snaps tightly to the front of the case. The coin slot does show some wear. Please look at thepictures. Front of Radio: Great condition. Grill - no dents, no tarnish. There is a fleck of paint missing at theupper right edge of the grill. Lettering– intact (reverse painting). No crackson front plate. The volume and tuner dials roll smoothly. Civil Defense marks are visibleon the station dial. Inside of Radio: There is no corrosion on the batteryterminals. All original components asfar as I know. The earphone jack has not been tested.The leather case is in suburb condition – all seamsare tight with no tears or stains in the leather. The snap works without issue. The swing strap is in wonderful shape.The odd thing about this case is that the flap covers the dials. In most all carrying cases, the dials areexposed so the radio can be easily operated.Dimensions in inches: about 4-wide; 2.5-high; 1.25-deep. This is a horizontal radio but designed to work vertically in a shirt pocket as well.……………………………………………………………………………..This radio is being offered as is and as shown in thepictures.
