For Auction: Rare Wheeler Expanded Base point, came with a collection of Pennsylvania points.  Not sure of origin, but a friend thankfully identified the artifact as a rare type found on Southeastern regions such as Florida, Georgia and Alabama.  Point is made from Coastal Plains chert and has an ancient ding on one base corner.  Also appears to have been rechipped at the tip, please see pics and bid accordingly.  Point measures approx 1” X 2”1/2.  Knowledg...eable collectors will understand that despite flaws this is a very rare transitional Paleo artifact.  Not many authentic examples on the market.  This is a wonderful, scare artifact that made its way up to the Northeast!  The rarest of the short lived Wheeler Paleo cluster.
