1960 Ducati Falcon 50
Item History & Price
Up for sale is a 196* Ducati Falcon 50. I'm not sure of the exact year since the vin plate just says 196 for year. Matching frame and engine numbers. Clear Virginia moped title. Was listed as 1960 on title.
I picked up the bike a few years ago as a complete basket case. Over the years all interest has faded and I havent touched it in probably a year so time to let it go.
Lets start with the not so great:The overall condition is pretty rough. Some hardware, cables, so on may need ...changing to your liking. The rear wheel is very rough but it was the best one I've been able to find. One of the spokes is broken but i do have a set of NOS spokes that go with the bike. Something in the hub of the rear wheel is allowing for some play. Maybe the bearings just need replaced? Not sure! The bike will idle but is currently dying with any throttle. Ill attach a video link below to show that. Previously I had it to the point where it would accelerate with a push to get moving and then it could keep building speed but from a stop it didn't seem to want to pick up power. The transmission fluid does has a leak overtime so that would need to be addressed. The bars don't seem perfectly straight when sitting on the bike. Look at the photos and judge for yourself the other "issues."
Now on to the good stuff! Lots of steps have been taken to get the bike running right including, rebuilt carb, cylinder bored to 1st over with matching rings/piston to insure compression wasnt the issue, NOS stator and flywheel just installed. The tank has been sealed with por15. Lots of old and new parts included like electrical parts, brand new tires and tubes, a new externally adjustable main jet needle, a used standard cylinder, nos spokes, and some other stuff. The bike DOES run and idle, just doesn't ride!
Feel free to ask any questions! Local pick up within the Northern Virginia/DC area. Will assist with pick up as needed.
