The design is an Aestheti...c one featuring a a pointed frame with asymmetrical flower arrangement and a Spanish fan on the terminus. When entertaining, there is always the problem of what to use with the dessert course. Taking everyone's salad fork to wash up, and returning them for dessert is difficult to do very gracefully. The pastry fork is designed for eating the dessert, and can be laid on the table with the regular silver. Pastry forks are used for eating just about any kind of baked dessert, not just pastry. The pastry fork has one tine thicker than the rest, which is used for cutting the food into bite sized pieces. This tine also tends to taper to a point, so it can be used as a probe to cheThe pastry forks offered here are the smaller ones, also known as pastry/pickle forks. They can be used for eating pastries and pies, but also for eating condiments, such as pickles. The 6 small pastry forks offered here measure about 6”. These are not pieces of new silver. They show the patina of as much as almost 140 years of careful use. There are the light scratches which constitute normal patina. There is no monogram. Silver is softly lustrous. There is no silver loss. The pattern is crisp and clear. These forks have been carefully used and well cared for. These forks come in a flannel wrapper which helps prevent tarnish.
