Very Scarce Davison Brothers clockwork truc...k car wood Lines bros Triang Bing Click images to enlarge Description Very scarce - I haven't seen another one on ebay or in auction for ten years - Davison Brothers Longton / Staffs clockwork truck. Wood, 9 inches long. Motor works - just about trundles along on flat smooth surface. c1940s...Therefore the result of austerity around the second world war. Rarely seen. Probably modeled on Austin K8.
Fragile - crack in cab pillar in the drivers side. Nice aged patina and fine cracking in the varnish/paint. If it was a painting this would be called craquelure.
However a very nice display with clear DB on the bonnet and the makers sign in gold on the back of the cab, making it a great display piece. I can supply a none original key. Nice and rare piece of history - not to mention a fragile survivor, slipping through the net of time's ravages, - unlike the company that made it of whom I can find no record. Get images that
