This is a very nice old leather catcher’s mitt and baseball that belonged to my friend’s aunt’s husband from when he was in high school in the early 40’s. The glove is in very good condition. The leather is still supple. Dark brown. No cracks, holes, or tears. It looks even better in real life. The pictures don’t do it justice. It’s very solid and heavy. Very good quality. It measures 10 inches by 10 inches. There is a little oxidation on the metal grommets. It looks worse ...in the pictures than in real life. The stamp on the ball is worn. I can’t make out the lettering. Both pieces are still fully usable. You can see in the last picture a dated baseball rules pamphlet that was among his things. (The pamphlet is in another listing.) His last name was Fox. This glove, a catcher’s mask, and some other sports memorabilia were stored in an old leather suitcase. I was going to sell everything together as a set, but decided not to due to the fact that everything is so heavy. The suitcase itself weighs 12 lbs. So, I am selling everything separately.
