"French Antique" by Wm. B. Durgin Co., Circa 1870, Sterling place spoon set of six, 7 1/8" long, monogram back EHL, weighing 28 grams average each. Durgin mark, Sterling mark, A.S. Marshall retailer mark.
Outstanding bright cut bird on branch engraving on these quality Durgin place spoons. At 28 grams each they are light and well balanced as opposed to many of the much ...more robust spoons in this size.
Starting in very good condition with light use marks (one spoon has a tiny bowl ding), bright cut pattern detail is excellent with no signs of over polishing.
I have lightly hand buffed these spoons.
There are no dents, bends, repairs or removals. The Durgin mark is a bird under the letter D surrounded by a wreath.
The final finish is medium high luster; ultrasonic cleaned and ready for table service.
