Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:53392423 | Brand: Buddy Lee |
Country/Region of Manufacture: United States |
All original and super early store use version of the coveted Buddy Lee Doll in the can’t bust em cowboy outfit. Note that he is entirely free of manufacturer markings on his body indicative of his age pre 1949. He does come with multiple cosmetic issues. He has many surface cracking on the paint. And decent amount has chipped away from his adorable eyes. All of the surface issues I have tried ...to capture in my photographs. His clothes are in excellent original condition including the copper riveted Lee Union made Jean and the original bandana as well, he is missing his hat however. And his head has began chipping where the hat once was as is typical with Buddy Lees. Again, what a great addition to one’s collection this little guy would make. Don’t miss out on adding him to yours. Following is some helpful information on Buddy Lee Dolls. Buddy Lee Dolls, the trademark of clothing maker H.D. Lee Co. Inc. were manufactured from 1920 to 1963. The doll was first made of composition plaster, which was easily broken. By the late 1940’s, it was made of hard plastic. The doll’s mold was changed in 1949, when his legs were thinned and bowed to look more like a bowlegged cowboy with pants on. Thinner legs also made him easier to dress. Lee clothed their Buddy Lee dolls in all types of Lee uniforms and work clothing, such as a cowboy, engineer, gas station attendant, Coca-Cola deliveryman, etc. Accessories were made elsewhere. Please note if you choose to purchase Mr Buddy Lee I he will be sent via signature delivery and insured accordingly.
