~*~Hello and thank you for looking~*~A work of art ~ One of the very best printed fabrics I've ever had the privilege of finding ~ This stunning fabric is an antique French printed cotton dating c1850. LOVELY printed cotton , one of the most breathtaking large scale designs ~ This lovely fabric was designed by Jean Ulrich Tournier ~ . This fabric was most likely printed in the Alsace region of France ~This fabric uses the most beautiful floral design ~ ~ This printed co...tton is a light weight, lightly glazed cotton. The ground tone is a soft, country , faded celdon green and the other colors include: blues, reds, raspberry pink, pale pink and very pale muted yellow. This fabric would have been fabulously expensive in it's day and was extremely time consuming to produce requiring no less than 8 large hand carved wooden blocks for the printing. This panel is constructed using one full width and 1 further more narrow width of this lovely fabric to make this large panel. The full width is in lovely condition with a few small holes, however the additional width added on the left facing side has extreme damage, with many holes and tears. This narrow panel ( the first 15 inches of the full 48 inch width) is best either fused or cut away and used for other small projects! ( please use the zoom feature ) The panels are hand stitched together ~ The floral design is printed using hand carved blocks and the ground is piece dyed. This fabric is a very light weight and is more fragile than most , so certainly not suitable for upholstery, however this fabric is ideal for backing and hanging, ideal decorative projects such as pillows, framing and other wonderful projects. One of the most rare and beautiful patterns I've ever seen ~*~ Ideal for any textile collection ~ ( please see my other textiles for further pieces of this stunning fabric) *~ *~ *~ ( FF 1111) MEASUREMENTS: This gorgeous fabric panel measures approx. 48 inches wide by 93 inches long ~*~ *~ CONDITION : This panel is in as found, not freshly laundered condition with light storage dust. The left facing panel ( first 15 inches of the width ) is extremely damage and was most likely facing the sun, so this section is best cut away and saved for small projects for cutting. The body has some small holes and the right facing side edge is cut in near the center. The top is jagged cut and there are small holes along the top edge. There are pale marks in places ~ generally stunning, but certainly not right for anyone requiring a perfect condition fabric ~*~ one of the best! ~~*~ ~ I always happily combine shipping charges to save my customers money on postage~~All of my textiles are wrapped in acid free tissue and posted in water tight wrapping at no extra charge to my customers*~*
