ABP AMERICAN BRILLIANT CUT GLASS ABP AMERICAN BRILLIANT VASE LAMP
DESCRIPTION:
Today we are listing for sale an ABP American Brilliant Period Vase Lamp, completely handcrafted during the American Brilliant Period, c1870-1916.
Completely executed on a clear fine quality blank this vase lamp is fully cut throughout.
This is a monumental piece standing at 34 1/2" to finial, vase itself is 16", 14lbs unpacked and the majority of this weight ...is the glass vase as the base is wood, I would guesstimate that the vase weight is at least 12 lbs, I don't think you will find a piece like this.
Condition: All teeth present, in wonderful condition with some scattered nics and flakes on some teeth, so hard to really see these, I have taken close up photos, the pattern is so fully cut and busy that one needs to search and discover.
It is a very lovely lamp as shown in the photos you can see the depth of these mitre cuts, they are rather deeply cut which refracts the light brilliantly. First photo shows it with one of my shades from a lamp in my home not included but if you would like to pay for the packaging shipping cost I will include it by invoicing you for the shipping cost only.
Pattern motifs: JD Bergen India but also referred as 2-Cut Octagon.Dimensions as stated.Blank: Mouth blown very clear water white Phosphorescence: green positive.This validates its provenance as an American Brilliant Period cut glass item.The luminescence is a result of adding manganese to the molten glass mixture to decolorize the iron in the sand. It validates the Period because the 40 year Period between 1870 and 1916 was the time in the course of ABP history that manganese was employed.Brilliant Period cut glass as a result of the combined hardening and radiance producing lead oxide with the added manganese was named the finest cut glass in the world.This occurred during the Paris Exposition of 1889 . Among the participants, Thomas G. Hawkes.
I have given this a gentle cleaning.

Items were not perfect when produced. Quality control was not a factor in the 1800s or early 1900s. These items are antiques and collectables and show signs of wear and use as you would expect to find from usage. My 14 day return policy only applies to items that have significant, sizable, meaningful and blairing issues of condition that I failed to disclose in my ad. Superficial wear of blemishes incurred over a long period of time, which one would be expected to find does not meet the conditions of the return policy. Please review photos for a determination of condition also. Buy purchasing this item you understand and acknowledge that a 100 year old antique item such as this will have wear and other issues, they are far too difficult, costly and time consuming to pack. I never charge for packing materials or for my time for packing (which is considerable when packing antique lamps & china).
