For sale is a very nice condition US Army 42nd infantry division 1st Lieutenant's uniform jacket and pants. The coat has officer collar brass for infantry and US, all being clutch back with smooth WWII clutches. There is a 42nd infantry division SSI neatly hand sewn to the upper left sleeve and 2 overseas service bars hand sewn to the lower left sleeve. There is a sterling pin back 1st Lt bar pinned to each epaulet. There is a clutch back 3 place ribbon bar abov...e the left upper pocket to include American Theater, ETO with 2 battle stars, and victory medal. The coat is privately made by a Chicago tailor with a label on the inside, and a name tag in the inside pocket showing a name and date that looks like 10/11/45. Officer braid is factory sewn to both lower sleeves. There is no size mark in the coat. I can get it on but just barely and I am a size 42 so I would guess it is around a size 38. It is made of heavy wool and has only one or two very tiny moth nips that I can see, nothing detractive. It has a heavy dark cotton or rayon lining with a small period patch as shown in one of the photos. Comes with a pair of dress slacks in size 36W x 35L that has a couple of serial numbers inside, not sure which one if either is Mr Schick. No noticeable moth holes or wear to the pants, just a little fraying at the watch pocket edge. Overall a very nice set for an infantry officer in the ETO and may be researchable with the name. I can ship overseas with cost to be determined based on buyer location. Please contact me prior to bidding if interested. This is a heavy weight coat and pants.
