Starting Sunday, April 25 and every Sunday after, I will be listing First War caps, collars and some shoulders. These came from the Edward (Ted) Skinner Collection which Brent Fletcher of The Command Post acquired in 2013 from the family. The reason I’m excited about this is that Ted started collecting just after the Great War. I understand he even wrote letters to Scully, Gaunt, etc. as a child asking for unissued old stock. In addition, Ted was a jeweller by trade and his attention... to detail and perfection is well known. The stuff I bought in 2013 is a mixed bag, mostly fairly common and even a lot of corps stuff. However, almost without exception it is perfect and the best example of that badge you’ll likely ever see. Again, I don’t expect to get crazy pre 2014 prices for these, but just know if you win a bid, you won’t be disappointed and I’ll offer 100% back if you’re not satisfied.
Up for grabs is this wonderful cap badge to the Third Siege Battery, Canadian Artillery, out of Montreal, Quebec. This is the variety without the “Overseas”. It is in excellent condition and there are no maker marks that I can see.
