Chrysoberyl & SilverVictorian BroochThis is a lovely early Victorian broochthat has an unusual stone – I am always drawn to unusual stones!The centre stone is a cabochon cutgreen Chrysoberyl or Cat’s Eye as it’s sometimes known and this stone has asuperb chatoyancy (the centre white stripe that gives it it’s name - Cat’sEye).The stone is claw set in the centre ofeight petals each having a real seedpearls in the centre. Either side of the petals are boxes set with se...ed pearls.It is hand-made, of solid constructionand very well executed – the rear is extremely tidy. It fastens with a simplepin and c catch.There are no marks on the item.
