This auction is for an early Lenci model #300 Boy early 1930's. This gorgeous little angel is 17 inches tall and has all the characteristics of the Lenci dolls from the 1920's and 1930's: zigzag stitching at the back of... the neck, a hard-stuffed cloth torso, felt arms and legs, applied double felt ears, side-glancing brown eyes, two-tone lips with two lighter dot highlights on the lower lip, a swivel head, movable limbs and the third and fourth fingers of her hands are joined. Her lush light brown mohair is thick and full.He is wearing a one-piece cream-colored footed all-felt pajama outfit with two deep V-shaped pockets, one of which holds Elio's favorite bedtime buddy, a tiny 3" Schuco mini monkey!
The brilliant but simple bedtime outfit is trimmed in baby blue felt at the Peter Pan collar, pockets, cuffs, side piping on the pants legs and around the footies.
Tiny blue covered felt buttons are only 1/8" in diameter!
The most endearing touch of all is the baby blue name "Elio" embroidered in script on the left pocket.
Elio comes in his original Lenci box decorated in the colorful abstract design which was created by the Italian artist Gigi Chessa and has the original Lenci label indicating that Elio is a model # 300/14.
Condition: This fabulous little Lenci is near mint! Facial features are all-original and unretouched. The coloring is fresh and bright.
There is no fading to the outfit and no stains or moth damage.
