1967 Gold Base Chief Wahoo Bobblehead Nodder Bobble Cleveland Indians
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:5357525 | Year: 1967 |
This is the rarer version of the gold base. This was a leftover green base mold that was painted gold. This was done for the first run of the gold base series and isn’t limited to the Chief Wahoo. Most other teams have a gold base made from the green base mold. This first run is more desired by most collectors as the quality of the set went down over the years. The green base set is generally considered to be the best made set.
The way to tell this... is a green base mold is that the bat goes all the way through the Chief’s hand. The 1968-1972 gold base Wahoos have a bat that stops at the hand. A google search will show the differences. I didn’t want to include photos and confuse anyone.
My black light did not pick up any touch ups and this appears to be all original paint. The neck is in good shape and was never repaired. Please look at the photos for condition. If you have any questions or want additional photos, don’t hesitate to message me.
