The real independent tourism industry did not exist in China until 1978, when the well-known Reform and Opening-Up Policy was carried out. Since then, the inbound travel was no longer restricted to diplomatic reception
In 1978, Deng Xiao-Ping introduced economic reforms and the open-door policy in China. Since then, the Chinese government started to recognize to...urism as a means to economic development and modernisation.

contents:-each slides stands alone in color, contents and perspective....the
tourist who shot the images definitely had a photographer's eye.-actual film slides are sharp clear......images shown were taken off a mini-light table
-Great Wall, Beijing, Canton, peasant village scenes, etcnote:
-the period (Soviet made?) touring bus for tourists, the tour guides,
many of the local populace wearing Proletariat Blue worker's clothing, some with the Mao Caps, railroad depot, children's school, etc etc etc-CHINA as seen by Westerners for the first time.....as Communist China was closed offto the World 1949-1974
-few sample images shown....shot off a mini-light box
specs:-Kodachrome Inc. COLORS are brilliant rich and vibrant!!!no 'pinkish' weak fixer slides!-development margin stamped: APRIL 1978.....however actual imageswere probably shot earlier.....and then developed.-COLOR snapshot slide photos....100% original vintage!
-typically mounted KODAK processed cardboard 35mm holders-total count = (115) individual slides-EXCELLENT slides for you to enhance & archive
