ITEM: This is a card cover pamphlet of 12 pages, the JaySee Silk Color Change Supreme-, written and published by Jack Chanin, Philadelphia, in 1936.
The effect is simple. Your hands are empty. You produce a white silk handkerchief. Your hands are empty. You poke it into your fist and it changes to a red silk handkerchi...ef. Your hands are empty. With clear text and 35 line drawings, Chanin takes you through the effect step by step. It used the small die tube and two silk handkerchiefs. In Chanin's hands, some of these simple magic effects became visual miracles.

Jack Chanin (1907-1997) was born in the Ukraine fled to Poland, and finally immigrated to the USA in 1926. Besides being a manufacturer, creator and owner of Chanin's Studio of Magic, he was also a performer and demonstrator. He would performed an Oriental act under the name Cha-Nin. He ran Philadelphia's oldest magic studio, Chanin's Studio of Magic, until 1981.
He had two different playing cards printed which were used for his promotions. SIZE: 5 1/2 by 8 3/8 inches, 10 pages, plus yellow card covers.
COND: Minor use and ageing. Water staining on bottom edge as seen in attached scans. Staples have rusted a bit. This is stab stapled. The front cover has pulled thru the staples. There is a bookplate of the former owner on the inside front cover. All in otherwise very Good condition. Please view the attached image to see the quality of this fine item.
