Selling my prized Celluloid Montblanc 149 with Silver Rings and an Oblique Broad “OB” 14C Nib. The pen will need service but is in very good condition for its age. The fully grooved feed dates this celluloid 149 between 1955-1959. The back of the clip has the period correct “XX” markings. The Oblique Broad nib is a rather rare nib compared to the run of the mill Mediums and Fine nibs at the time. The rings are slightly loose and there is a name engraving of “Sulo Suominen” ...on the pen. The middle ring reads “Masterpiece” instead of “Meisterstuck” suggesting this 149 was sold to an English speaking market. No cracks or chips on the celluloid. The striping on the ink view window has wear. The piston knob is stamped “OB” and “149” Please note a full service is required to bring this beautiful 149 to working condition. When drawing up the plunger from the completely depressed position to draw in ink, the cone will unscrew from the metal piston. Photo 12 shows the cone unscrewed from the metal piston. This pen is not in working order and needs to be serviced. Will be shipped with FedEx to the CONUS (Continental US) only.
