One of the largest 6x9 Indy Car Postcard collections ever offered for sale will be broken up and offered for sale individually here over the next few months. Many common cards for the newer collector and some incredibly rare cards for ...the experienced collector will be made available. The bulk of these cards were issued during the 1950's and 1960's. Some consider this to be the golden era of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Back when both the drivers and the cars had personalities. Many Indy Car postcard collectors feel the oversize 6 x 9 postcards are the premier area of collecting the Indianapolis post cards. Most 6 x 9 cards were published by the Speedway via different printers from 1951 to 1970. Others were put out by various team issued cards in a scattered manner during the 1970's and a few later on. The 60 plus card series putout by Champion Spark Plugs from 1957 to 1969 contains some of the rarest cards ever issued and are highly prized by the advanced collector.There are over a total of 230 known 6x9 cards.
