HANDSOME 1917 ANTIQUE ENGLISH 9k ROSE GOLD COW HORN ARMORIAL WALKING STICK CANEAMAZNG ESTATE TREASURE AUCTION INCLUDNG FINE ASIAN ARTS Hello, thank you for having a look at our auctions! Up for auction with no reserve is a very handsome carved Bull's Horn and 9k Rose Gold Handled Walking Stick or Cane. The Cane is part of a fine collection of Canes we have listed this week, be sure to check all our other auctions and save greatly with combined shipping.
This is one of 3 Canes in the collection with Bovine Horn handles and Solid Gold collars, this being the finest quality in my opinion. The Cane Handle is Bovine Horn which I believe has been steamed and carved to achieve the form. The stick portion of the cane appears to be a painted wood. The Gold band is solid 375 9k Rose Gold with a very fine hand etched Family Armorial Crest which is well worth looking into. The Band is also fully Hallmarked for Benjamin Jacobs Trading as M Jacobs & Co., manufactures of walking sticks and umbrellas, along with London town mark and the Year Letter for 1917. The Cane overall is in excellent condition showing some wear and signs of use consistent with age including paint chipping but no breaks, cracks or repairs, except the Gold band which has split but could be restored easily I believe. The Cane is a nice size for use or display measuring 36 inches long overall or the handle alone measures 4-1/2 inches tall by 4-1/2 inches wide overall. I am sure the Gold content alone on this Cane is substantial but it will sell to the highest bidder without reserve !
