1960s RAF Mk7 Ventile Immersion Suit Blouse/Smock
Item History & Price
1960s RAF Mk7 Ventile Immersion Suit Blouse/Smock. Brilliant super rare upper half of the RAF Ventile MK7 immersion suit. These blouses are very rare and hardly ever turn up. This example is in brilliant lightly used condition. It has age related wear and storage marks. Most noticeably the rubber neck and wrist cuffs have suffered and are heavily split, torn and ripped. However the waist rubber seal is in good flexible soft condition. The rest of the blouse/smock is in lovely condition. The grey/blue ventile fabric has no damage, some storage marks so could benefit from a wash. There is some hardening to some rubber in the arms but it's not too bad and the blouse/smock remains flexible. The hood is really nice too, the wire loop to the front fully flexible for shaping and contouring the hood. All 3 prestuds for folding the hood away are still in place. With all buttons and draw string in place too. Both pockets have their buttons aswell. The blouse/smock is fully labelled and marked with makers label, which states, "A special production by P.Frankenstein & Sons Manchester Ltd. Victoria rubber works. Newton heath. Manchester.10". The white label states its a Mk7 immersion suit blouse, its a size 2 and for a approximately 5ft7 to 5ft9 individual. With stores reference number 22C/1672 and broad arrow. Dated 10/66, so nearly 55 years old now! Overall a lovely rare RAF smock/blouse made from the famous Ventile material so popular these days. It would be ideal for a RAF musuem display, collection, reinactor display or possibly for wearing. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me and I'll try to help.
