Guaranteed to be original and as described - - A very hard to find and rare bracklet / shelf clock by Catel Dunst with hand engraved face. The face is signed .. Catel Dunst Vhurmacher Meister Falckenauch.. please use the photos to get a accurate translation .. I can make out the Catel Dunst just fine. The clock is either German or Dutch in origin… and is a rare example as I cannot find ANY clocks that have survived from this clock maker. The clock is guarantee...d to be from the 18th century period. The case appears to be original and is kind of in rough shape... a great project for the clock restorer. The escapement movement is a crown foliot escapement and there is a mock pendulum on the face / dial....SIZE: 9 1/2 inches high by 7 inches across the front by 4 1/2 inches deep...CONDITION: The condition is good as shown for its age. There is no pendulum and the clock is not working from what I can see. The case has had multiple repairs as shown in about four places. There are a few small cracks on the wood case in a few places. It looks like the case was repainted a long time ago. The glass in the front door is missing..a easy replace. There is some loss to the case on the front top left and some other places as shown. This is a very scarce 18th century mid to late 1700's bracket clock.
