Item History & Price

This magnificent knife, with atapered spear point has a handle made with a fossilized walrus tooth. The knife seems new even if aged and with minor pitting in the integral bolster as shown in the picture. The blade is hand forged, six inches long, and the handle 4 inches long, which is made of one piece is firmly anchored by brass pin.The walrus tooth is lightly cracked but it is only a... superficial crack. The handle has hrunk some what with age and a piece of paper can be inserted beetween the handle and the integral bolster. Can be filles in easily with epoxy but I didn't wanted to alter its originality.I have no sheat for it. I bought it in Anchorage, Alaska about 50 years ago. A spectacular specimen of craftanship as Mr. Boyd was famous for.
