Lovely Museum Quality French Art Nouveau 18K Gold Diamonds Platinum Great Egret Bird Pendant Brooch ! Highly detailed solid gold miniature sculpture ! I have detected what appears as three eagle head hallmarks on this egret jewel, an eagles head on the edge of the left wing in the fourth image, a partial eagles head on the pin and a partial eagles head on the C catch which is welded into place, which indicate this egret jewel is composed of 18K gold of French origin. Weighs approx...imately 14 grams. Approximately 5 cm (1 15.8/16 inches) in width from right wing tip to left wing tip, and approximately 2.7 cm (1 0.5/16 inches) in height from top of both wing tips to lowest curve of feet. The pin can be spun off which would allow for the jewel to be worn as a pendant. The egret is carrying three old European cut diamonds, the largest being held within a platinum frame of approximately 4 mm in diameter, and there is a little heart between the diamonds, and since diamonds represent eternity, the egret bears tidings of eternal love and fortune, now how cool is that ?! 10587 is engraved on the reverse side of the wing, which is an inventory number usually done by museums, and I have seen several such jeweled birds in British museums, for these are art jewels representing miniature solid gold sculptures at their best !
