Here is an original bakelite telephone made by Automatic Electric telephone. There are no cracks or chips in this beautiful working phone. This partcular AE40 has chromed brass bands and all chrome hardware incuding a chrome butlers handle, fingerwheel, card holder and chrome fingerstop.This telephone was special ordered this way in 1940. The chrome is strikingly beautiful and is all new triple plated chrome.Very few restorers replate all the brass. We have the finest origi...nal AE40 on themarket and on EbayThis AE40 Monophone is better than new with matching black woven cloth cords. It has a modular plug on the line cord so you will just plug it in and enjoy. This very elegant Art deco phone is very stylish with its curves. The bakelite was buffed and polished and its dial calibrated.Virtually no wear to the dial or its porcelain dial plate. The rubber base is brand new and is exactly like the original. Its soft and pliable and will not damage you furniture. Inside the phone are 2 nice individually tuned brass bells that harmonize to deliver a wonderful nostalgic ring that has been since forgotten.
