Antique Victorian/Art Deco 1900-1920's Hand crafted in 800 silver medium wide Filigree Square 5 panels with Egyptian Revival scenes and slide inside stick closer , the bracelet features filigree panels which depict ancient Egyptian style figures and scenes. The inclusion of ancient Egyptian scenes in this bracelet is an excellent example of the impact of the Egyptian Revival There are six panels in this bracelet, which are comprised of intricate wave wi...re bands of silver created using filigree metalworking techniques. These filigree designs would have been hand crimped, requiring a great deal of skill on the part of the silversmith. Applied atop the filigree panels are images of people, animals and the pyramids in the style of ancient Egyptian traditional tribal design . As was common in ancient Egyptian art, the people in the scenes are shown with their faces in profile but the rest of their body facing forward, a style that emerged out of religious beliefs surrounding representations of people in relation to the afterlife. Each scene in this bracelet was created with care and a dedication to accurately represent the distinctive appearance of ancient Egyptian Style .
