Vintage Kalevala Koru Oy Helsinki Finland Sterling Silver Partridge - Dove of Peace Pin Brooch - Dated 1979May I offer:Date coded for 1979, may I offer this sweet designer signed piece of Finnish Sterling Silver jewelry. Manufactured by Kalevala Koru Oy of Helsinki, Finland, this stylized bird pin depicts either a partridge (think Christmas), Dove of Peace or maybe just a plain pigeon. With full hallmarks to the underside, the closure is a si...mple curled c-catch which works very well in holding the pinstem in place. Size is 2" high x 1-7/16" wide; weight is 11.3 grams. A nice thickness of silver to the pin - nothing thin and flimsy here. Overall condition is terrific with just some very light surface marks - a further polish will hide everything (I only lightly polished for the photos).

Kalevala Koru specializes in the production of historic jewelry pieces including reproductions of ancient jewelry discovered on many archaeological sites in Finland. The motifs on Kalevala jewelry can date back as far as the iron age (pre 400AD), the prosperous Viking age (800-1025) and some into the 19th century.
