If you are familiar with my Doc & Son listings you'll know I'm liquidating his entire sports memorabilia collection of over 1000's items that were on display in his office. 70% of the items are from Professional Golfers, but my I've been a baseball fan for 30 years and Dad shared some of my interest so he had a few dozen autographed baseballs and a few bats on display. If you think you see a trend in the autographs, you're correct...most of them are from Jewish Athletes! Being Jewi...sh, Dad intentionally sought out fellow Jews in sports.

Why do I donate percentage of all my listings to American Cancer Research?On May 16th 2018 at 2:30 am the golfing community lost one of the finest men it's ever known. My best friend and father (Doc) had been an avid golfer for 40 years, and a autograph/memorabilia collector for the last 25 years. 6 Months after his first symptom Dr Ben succumbed to an aggressive cancer.
Over the last 25 years Doc has amassed 1000's of signatures on everything from Golf Balls, Gloves, Photos and Putters. Doc recently passed after a short battle with cancer and it's time to liquidate the collection. A long and arduous task assigned to me, the "Son". If you doubt the authenticity of any signed items please do not bid. Not only have we acquired the majority in our own backyard, but we also have a home in Phoenix Arizona and often travel to sporting events all over the country. While the majority of our collection centers on the PGA, we do have several MLB, NFL and NBA authentic autographed items. In fact 90% of our baseball autographs were collected in person by myself (Scott aka Son) at spring training games in and around Phoenix. Doc is the golf fanatic, I'm the baseball junkie. It is played annually in July, the week before the British Open, at TPC Deere Run in the Quad Cities community of Silvis, Illinois.The tournament began as the Quad Cities Open in 1971 and was a "satellite event" on the PGA Tour. It became an official tour event in 1972. Ed McMahon served as tournament host from 1975 to 1979. Title sponsors have included Miller Brewing Company (1982–85), Hardee's (1986–94) and John Deere (since 1999). Dr Ben's house has been located just a stones throw from the #2 Green at TPC Deere Run and just a block away from the John Deere World Headquarters here in Silvis, IL.
TPC Deere Run is an 18-hole golf course in Silvis, Illinois along the scenic Rock River. It is operated by the PGA Tour as a member of their Tournament Players Club network of golf courses and plays host to the annual John Deere Classic Tournament, which is part of the tour's regular season schedule.
Every year Doc not only treated several PGA Tour Professionals but also their families and children traveling with them. Dr Ben became a true friend to many professionals because he really admired them and always made sure they had his personal phone number to contact him with questions anytime, anywhere.
Doc has played in several Pro-Am events and become a staple of the John Deere Classic (Formerly Hardee's Classic), known for strolling the practice green in his signature snake skin boots and stetson hat with a sharpie in one hand and his stethoscope in the other.
