PALM BEACH ESTATE FIND!! Monumental vintage Sergio Bustamante Ser-Mel Hand Painted Swan or Water Bird. Signed above the wing. It appears to be a plaster coated paper mache. Hollow yet very sturdy! This is an early piece, circa 1960s or 1970s. The detail is amazing. Please see all photos and ask any and all questions prior to offer or purchase. Please excuse the glare in the photos. The sculpture measures approximately 28” at its tallest point and 27” from neck across to tail. Also ...approximately 15” wide. Overall excellent condition however there is one small chip on the tail and a 2” area of damage along the bottom edge, neither of which is obvious when displayed. Ser-Mel workshop was founded in 1963 by Sergio Bustamante and Melquiades Preciado, the name Ser-Mel is a combination of the first three letters of their names. Their fine and original artwork was immediately recognized in Mexico and around the world and is highly collectible and prized to this day. Would be a stunning addition to your MCM, Hollywood Regency decor.
