Vintage Handmade Greek Bouzouki 8-string : 4-course 40-staves w Case Shadow Pickup Tsakirian 60s/70s. Condition is "Used".RELISTED: original winner was unable to pay.I bought this beautiful hand crafted vintage 4-course (8 string) bouzouki from a 90 year old Greek man who had used this to play professionally decades ago. He was moving back to Greece and could no longer play it, which is how I came to have it. The bouzouki works, appears structurally sound and does hold tune. It has 40-...staves, 8-strings, nice pearl inlay, lots of patina and signs of wear/use/years, a working vintage SHADOW brand pickup (I have tested it), and comes protected in its original vintage hard case.There is no label and just a gold foil paper lining inside, but the man told me he bought it new in Greece many hears ago and that it was hand made by a man named Tsakirian. I have no way to verify this, but I was told this after I bought it so there is no reason to think it was untrue.I have lost my job and am selling a number of instruments including this one in order to cover the bills. I am not a bouzouki player but made a short video so you can see / hear it: https://youtu.be/-dcMXUIoLUkSome of the shiny finish on the back of the neck is dull, marred or shows scrapes/wear from use - it appears to me someone tried to clean it with alcohol or some other thing that interacted with the finish and made it dull up near the back of the headstock. As this is a 50-60 year old instrument there are small nicks, scratches or other signs of age and wear. While most of the neck is playable frets have wear and a few at the highest notes need to be glued back in (the two highest were loose and came out but are included in the case) or dressed so those high notes can be played. I would even recommend eventually doing a full refret if you plan to play professionally. That said it is playable on most of the neck as is.If you have any questions or even additional photos please feel free to ask.
