This listing is for a most eye pleasing pair of 19th century silver plated candlesticks. The hallmarks have been looked at by a jeweller and JW they think is a Birmingham firm for C1830.They measure 10” x 4 1/2” and have the most beautiful quartrefoil lobed base with a daisy flower at the end of each.There has been some repair as shown in the photos, none of which is noticeable unless on very close inspection.The relectivity of the silver plate is just like sterling silver as... it is very thick coated. I was convinced that it WAS silver, with the hallmarks, until I looked underneath and silver plating loss could been seen and also one minute area on the candlestick itself shows tarnish through to a yellow colour...See last photo.
