Offered for sale is a rare find - a 1975 MSR Model 9A stove. The Model 9 was Larry Penberthy's first stove design to use a remote burner, introduced in 1973. I am not an expert on these stoves, but the limited research I have done indicates this is a Model 9A with a smooth burner bell, longer pot supports, a single large vent in the side of the stove housing, and a black Bakelite baseplate. The receipt with the stove shows an original sale date of 7/7/1975,
This s...tove has had very little use and is in excellent condition. I have not tested it other than the spark lighter which works. Included is the stove, yellow pump, 2 aluminum heat reflectors and a windscreen, simmer plate, jet cleaning wire, instruction sheet and warning tag, warranty card, original sales receipt and original plastic sales bag with the price tag still intact. I think the only thing missing would be the aluminum cup that slipped over the top of the stove for storage. It really is a 46-year old time capsule.
