He was awarded Captain rank in the military.John died in 4 Nov 1699 in Ipswich, Essex, Massachusetts.NEHEMIAH JEWETT (Joseph, Edward), was born in Rowley, Mass., April 6, 1643.He was made freeman at Lynn, April 29, 1668, and in 1667 had land laid out to him in Hog Island marsh, Rowley. "He settled in Ipswich, Mass., on a farm west of his brothers Jeremiah and divided from it by the street.
