I started out collecting KENTUCKY DERBY GLASSES, and then I realized how much more of a challenge that it was to collect KENTUCKY DERBY PROGRAMS, because most people threw them away when they left CHURCHILL DOWNS. But when eBay came along, it became easier to add to my collection, and now I have quite a few VINTAGE KENTUCKY DERBY PROGRAMS that I'm putting up for auction on eBay. They're really EXCELLENT INVESTMENTS, because a lot more people are collecting them now than the...y did in the past, so the law of SUPPLY and DEMAND is driving their prices up. They don't have to be in MINT condition to be worth collecting, because it's just about IMPOSSIBLE to find VINTAGE KENTUCKY DERBY PROGRAMS in MINT condition. As long as they DISPLAY DECENTLY, they are worth collecting. One of my attached photographs shows one of the binders that I have filled with VINTAGE KENTUCKY DERBY PROGRAMS........................................The 1939 KENTUCKY DERBY PROGRAM that I'm auctioning off is the ELEVENTH one that I've listed so far. All of them are in decent condition, but this one is in EXCELLENT + condition, especially considering that it's over EIGHTY years old. It has an average amount of PENCIL writing in it, and no creases or wrinkles or tears. It's almost impossible to find VINTAGE KENTUCKY DERBY PROGRAMS that are in MINT condition or even unwritten in, because people USED them. To find one in ANY condition is very rare, because just about all of them were thrown away when the people left the race track. If a program's covers are not written on, and it doesn't have tears or wrinkles, a KENTUCKY DERBY PROGRAM is considered to be very collectible.
