Original Description:
lThis listing is for a 1965 Green Bay Packer bobbin head, also known as nodders. He has some ever so small hairlines in the back of his head that I didn't even notice until the flash lit him up and they became visible. He also has, as you can see, some scuffing beneath his head and on the back of his neck. He displays very nicely thought and will look great setting in your showcase. He books for $150 to $200 but I'll let you decide what he's worth. The other two Packers are also listed... at this very moment. I guantee him to have never been restored, never been repainted and never been refurbished and is 100% original. Thank you again for watching and please make the DENVER SUPPLY one of your favorite vendors so you can readily and frequently drop by. Thank you again for your interest and your questions......................Barry
PS...….If there's something in particular that you're looking for, please write me and if I have it, we'll talk or I can list if for you. I have a ton to sell.
One final thought, I guarantee and promise satisfaction with each and every item that we sell. No one should ever have to feel bad about a purchase nor a sale. So if you EVER buy ANYTHING from us, and decide in a day or two that it's not what you wanted, nor what you hoped, nor what you expected it to be, simply return it, in the same condition and in a timely manner, and I will issue a complete 100% refund. This is a very expensive hobby but fun nonetheless. I have 14 nodders from when I was a child. Back then they were only a buck or two and my Mother would allow me to pick one out every time we went to the Ephrata Children's Boy Store for school clothing. They had an entire wall of them. How many times I've thought about those days. I would love to simply know now what all they had? I never landed any super or tough nodders but I still indeed do have all the original members of this gathering purchased for me as a small boy, by my Mother. I took painstaking care of these little guys even then. I even hid this fact from my friends for fear of them making fun of me for playing with dolls and I loved them then, just as much as I do today. I gently stuffed newspaper in their heads because even then, I was indeed smarter then the average bear, and he's actually quite intelligent, so they say. I did however, carefully write the number 43 on the back of one of my several Phillie bobbin heads. He is still lovingly known today as the "Wes Covington" edition, and he's quite limited, I'll have you know. So each and everyone of these guys turned out negative on my black light test. Then, I purchased numerous nodders off an auction house, which sometimes identifies when, and if, a piece  they're selling, has been restored. Unfortunately I've been burned one too many times so no more auction houses for me. They look beautiful, as advertised, but when subjected to your little black light test, BOOM, there it is. Without the aid of that black light, I couldn't tell which of my Black Faced Phillies had been restored. They are both beautiful, and shiney, and mint, and have vibrant colors. But when the black light hits it, there are your spots of color that someone painted on. And you know what? That's fine. They belong to you. You may certainly fix them up, paint them up, cover up a nick, scratch, pin hole, whatever, to your own choosing and preference. Feel free to do whatever you like. But the problem now lies, if and when you should decide to sell them. Because now you have an obligation to at least share this. Now they've been restored and this is going to help sell it for some people because they'll look gorgeous, but they won't bring as much money. Maybe half price after they've been restored? But if they had flaws to start with, that's about what they would've brought on the market anyway. I don't mind owning and displaying mint nodders in my personal collection that have been professionally restored. Don't mind it one little bit. But it's far easier for me to sell the mint ones that have NEVER been restored. Yes they're very expensive, I don't deny that. I spend a ton of money on the GEM MINT ones, far more then most of the dealers are willing. But what I have is MINT and I when I tell you that it's mint, you'll know that it is for sure. I'll also let you know when I'm listing one that's been restored or repainted. Regardless, get yourself a black light please, you'll be an expert in no time and you'll be glad that you did. A 30 Watt Black Light can be purchased on Amazon for $30.00 and it's more then big enough. I would never ever be without mine again. They even sell blacklight flashlights. They're not big enough for at home but it you're going to a card show and thinking about buying a bobbin head or two, stick it in your pocket and sneak a quick look before paying for a nodder from a man you'll never see again. If you're a nodder collector, this is an absolute must for your own satisfaction as well as protection. It's simply too easy. I try to list several items each and everyday so please keep stopping by and checking in. I have hundreds and hundreds to sell. Thanks again and keep in touch...……………..Barry
