The Western Electric 302 Desk Set was the first telephone manufactured by Western Electric with all of the componentsinside the phone. Prior Western Electric phones required a subset or ringer box attached to the baseboard.
This particular working and beautifully restored Model 302 desk set is immaculate. It appears to have had little use.There are no cracks, chips or damage of any kind....The right rear corner had an extremely tight crack thatwas professionally bonded and repaire...d. I attempted to photograph, but it is nearly impossible to see.
This Telephone was manufactured in 8/53. The coil, capacitor, dial and Thermoplastic Body date match.
The porcelain number plate was renewed with a high quality vinyl overlay. I've provided a closeup photo. The #5 dial spins smoothly as it did years ago. The line and handset cords are high quality replacements. Note the original leather covered feet are in excellent condition showing no signs of wear.
The body was cleaned, polished and gently buffed. The handset was hand sanded, buffed and polished to a very nice gloss finish.
This working Vintage Western Electric Desk Phone is ready to plug in to any standard phone outlet, then step back to a simpler time, before Voicemail, "Your call is very important to us...Press one for"..You get the hint : )
