Rare vintage / antique L S Starret Co USA adjustable jaw cut-nippers in excellent condition. No 1 - 5 1/2. These have what I would guess would be the tile nippers but the catalogue states this attachment is for 'general use'. These top nippers are detachable - the screws are very tight so I have not removed them. Attachments included various wire cutters/nipp...ers for piano and guitar wires. They weigh 227g and are 5 and a half inches long. The central spring is strong.
From the catalogue.....'These jaws have a dove tailed slot in their underside to receive a spline which extends into a slot in the frame. A tapering screw through the frame and spline draws the jaw firmly down to a toothed seat in the frame , holding it securely'
A rare collectable working set of jaw cut-nippers - today these are still made by Starrett and the price of these new is unbelieveably high !
