Ashantee Music & MoreVintage Buffet R13 Bb clarinet for sale. Very good condition: I repaired a very short hairline crack in theusual place on the inside of the bell tenon. The crack did not go all the way through to the bore, and is non-weightbearingdue to the tenon ring. It will never bea problem. On close inspection, you canalso see where the prior owner had a chip repaired on the face of theinstrument, lower joint, near the upper ring. I don’...t see even a hint of that going to the bore or the inside of thetenon, so I’m pretty sure it was just a surface chip of some kind. (You’d probably never notice it, but I try todescribe very accurately and honestly.) Silver plated with minor scratches and tarnish, but very little wear ifany to the silver, mostly confined to the tips of some posts. Pads are not new but in very good condition, mostly cork on the upper and a combination on the lower, with none moth-eatenor compromised. Compression is verytight on both joints, and this clarinet plays very freely across all registerswith bright, lively and responsive tone. (That’s with a standard Buffet mouthpiece and a 2.5 fibracellreed.) This horn includes a ridiculouslyhard-to-find Vandoren B44 mouthpiece in excellent condition, a standard BuffetR13 66mm barrel, and an additional Chadash 670 barrel. Also includes a swab, and a new Fibracell #4reed. For local pickup only, it includestwo partial tubes of cork grease, but these cannot be shipped. It does include the pictured reed trimmer, butI have just noticed that it’s for a tenor sax, so give it to a friend if youdon’t need it! (I just feel guilty notincluding it when it’s in the photos.) S/n577XX, roughly 1956, and it (and the 1955 R13 we have listed) are two of thebest-playing clarinets we’ve ever had.
