Green Bay Packer-Alabama-Hall of Fame Quarterback Bart Starr OMB No.14-1971 Royal Halburton China Decanter. This auction is for a legendary Green Bay Packers quarterback Bart Starr (probably unauthorized) liquor (Brandy) decanter. I got this at an auction at an old movie studio somewhere North of Rhinelander. I think this studio is where the movie “The Great Spider Invasion” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Giant_Spider_Invasion was filmed.The Giant Spider Invasio...n was shot in Gleason and Merrill, Wisconsin and in six weeks with a budget of $300, 000. But I digress. That has nothing to do with this awesome specimen of a Bart Starr inspired brandy decanter. I’m sure it was made without Mr. Starrs permission or approval. On the bottom of the base in embossed letters it says O.M.B. No.14-1971 Royal Halburton China. “Wisconsin Sports Capital of the World" is emblazoned on the front of the base”. There is a sticker, I believe what they used to call a state tax sticker, in the shape of Wisconsin on the base. The upper left (sorry Superior) and upper right (Door County, bye-bye) of the sticker are gone, as you can see in the picture. I see no flaws in this decanter other than on the top piece. There is glue residue from, I’m guessing, when the cork that attached the two pieces together got old and broke and it was glued together by someone. The remnants of the cork are in the base. The decanter measures 14.5 " H with a base measure of 7.5" X 4". I can think of no greater way for you to honor the legendary Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame/University of Alabama Quarterback Mr. Bart Starr, other than to buy my decanter for a lot of money.
