Rare CROWN TR-800 Reverse Painted Vintage Transistor Radio Japan.
This is a rare and beautifully designed early Japanese transistor radio made by CROWN. Model TR-800. It has a unique and beautifully designed reverse painted dial area, a beautiful turquoise color cabinet, and circular grille. Includes the original leather case. This is pretty much a project radio. It has no chips but does have a couple of cracks and a lot of paint flaked off the grille. It is also missing the orig...inal volume knob (has a black replacement installed) and some internal issues including a loose chassis (see pics). I tested it and currently it is not working at all. Reception varies by time of day, geographical location, and distance from AM stations so it may be better or worse in your area. However, it is being sold as non-working. Consider it a bonus if it works. Please study the photographs closely to determine your own opinion of the condition as this is much better than me trying to describe it in words.
