Superb quality genuine 108 year old watch, in perfect working order, with a fine "Swiss Made Tavannes Watch Co" movement, and is housed in a very clean heavy 2oz Dennison sterling silver case. It has an unblemished white enamel dial, with an extra hinged silver front lid and is complete with its protective glass cover. It is a very good timekeeper. The silver watch chain has graduating links and attached is an antique "heart" shaped silver fob medal with an unused rose gold cartouche. The chain alone weighs a heavy approx 44 grams. A really stunning set.Measurements Great size, the watch measures approx 2.05 inches (52mm) in diameter, excluding stem, and is 0.6 (14mm) deep. The silver watch chain measures 13.25 inches (336mm) in length.Date English Antique solid sterling silver, with full English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1911 (date letter "m"). Excellent clear struck marks, stamped in 6 separate places. The Albert chain has lion passant silver marks on every chain link and is hallmarked Birmingham 1896, (date letter "w") on the t-bar. The swivel is hallmarked Birmingham 1902.Maker Silversmiths initials "A.L.D", (Aaron Lufkin Dennison - 1876 -1936), on the watch case. The watch movement is stamped "Tavannes Watch Co" "Swiss Made" "US PAT 24th May 1904". Condition Excellent clean condition throughout. The watch is in perfect working order and a very good timekeeper, winding and running the full length of the spring. No issues at all, the heavy 2 oz silver case has no splits or repairs and no knocks or dents, the enamel dial is perfect and the protective glass is undamaged. The antique silver albert chain is also in lovely condition and the silver swivel catch works perfectly and has a strong spring. The watch has a lovely period engraved presentation inscription inside the inner rear dust cover.
