French nun of the Order of the Visitation and mystic who experienced several visions of Christ. She promoted devotion to the Sacred Heart, was Beatified in 1864 and Canonized in 1920.Oval golden brass case, decorated on front with tiny winged cherub heads and on the backing with the Miraculous Virgin Mary. The interior compartment is under glass on a red cloth background, the relic is placed on a gold backing above the hand written name label which reads " Bse.M.M.Alacoque " (Blessed Margaret Mary Alacoque).The back case cover can be removed to view the red string seals and the official red wax Church seal with Archbishop's hat and stem. All are in place and intact. Antique ornate miniature reliquary in excellent condition with minor signs of wear and age.
