For Sale is a DOOLING PEEWEE (mdl.6000) ORIGINAL TETHER CAR, with a mild, expert custom touch I am selling for a friend. Dooling, according to most reviews, only made about 200 of these mid size cars in 1942, as Pearl Harbor was bombed just a couple months after production started. It features a GWIN AERO .45 ENGINE, allowing the exhaust to exit upwards(a common update during the day). Gwin Aero is essentially a Bunch engine, designed by, I believe Bunch’s father in law and bui...lt in the Bunch shop. The BODY IS ORIGINAL, measuring 11 3/4”. The wheelbase is original, measuring 7 7/8”(the Spindizzy book is incorrect, I have two and know of 6 altogether original PeeWees that share these dimensions). The custom touches include a very cool, beautifully done Venturi/Needle Valve assembly placed outboard of the body for ease of adjustment. Also the original front axle has been sleeved with brass tubing. But the coolest mod is the expertly done set of three machined slots on the front nose. Probably what the factory should have done! The fit of the body halves is incredible. The painted green accents were copied from “in the day” residual markings, barely visible on the car. Unfortunately, the paint shows a couple of runs and unevenness, which can be corrected easily or removed to polish the body. No big deal. What you have here is a beautiful, rare Dooling that would make an excellent addition to your collection!Please check the numerous pics and description before bidding.
