Up for auction is this incredible pre-columbian textile fragment from Peru. This piece was once used as a funeral cloth used to wrap the deceased. This South American treasure is likely from a Chimu or Chancay culture. This tribal piece dates back to 1200-1600 AD. It is rare to find pieces of pre columbian textile, because they typically decay so easy. It is even more rare to find one associated with a mummy. This decorative hand-made piece is remarkably preserved! This would make a gr...eat piece for any artifact collection! It is likely made of cotton, wool, or some other common commodity from the culture. You will receive the exact fragment that you see in the photo in the display case that you see.
